Nampa, Idaho

One plumber, one van, one very good dog

I'm Alvin. I fix the small stuff around Nampa: drips, clogs, running toilets and stuck shutoffs. The same guy answers the phone and shows up at your door.

  • Licensed and insured
  • Price in writing before I start
  • Renters welcome

What I fix

A short list, on purpose

Small repairs, done right. For anything bigger, I'll say so and point you to who I'd call.

  • Dripping faucets

Worn cartridges, washers and loose handles, in kitchens and baths.

  • Running toilets

Flappers, fill valves and a seat that wobbles.

  • Slow drains

Sinks, tubs and showers that drain slowly, or not at all.

  • Leaks under the sink

Supply lines, traps and the shutoff valves under them.

  • Outdoor taps

Hose bibs that drip, or that froze last winter.

  • Water heater small fixes

    Flushing, pressure valves and thermostats.

How I show up

A text first, a towel under the sink

I text you when I leave the shop and again from the curb. Booties go on at the door, or boots come off, whichever you like. Your cabinet gets a towel before the tools come out, and the floor gets wiped before I go.

  • A text when I leave and when I arrive

  • Booties on at the door

  • A towel under every sink I work at

  • The old part on the counter, so you can see it

The crew

Alvin and Biscuit

Two of us, one van.

  • A golden Labrador in a dark collar looking off to the side with its tongue out, green leaves behind

    Biscuit

    Rides along

Stays in the van unless you say hello. Tell us if you would rather he stayed home.

When you call

What happens next

  • You call or text a photo

A picture of the drip or the stain tells me most of what I need.

  • I text you a time

A window, not a promise of "sometime today". I text again when I leave.

  • I look, then I tell you the price

In writing, by text, before any tool comes out of the van.

  • I fix it and clean up

Then I text you the receipt and the shutoff tip for next time.

Questions

Before you call

Will I get a price before you start?

Yes. I look at the problem, tell you what I'd do, and text you the price in writing before I touch anything. If the number doesn't suit you, we part friends.

Water is running and won't stop. What do I do?

Shut the main valve first. It is usually where the water line comes into the house: in the garage or utility room, or in a box near the street. Turn it clockwise until it stops, then call or text me a photo.

Can renters call you?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, since they pay for repairs to the building. I can text them the details and the price so you aren't stuck in the middle.

Will Biscuit be there?

Biscuit rides in the van and stays there unless you say hello. If you or someone in the house is allergic or nervous around dogs, tell me when you call and Biscuit stays home.

Got a drip? Send a photo.

Text it to the same number I answer the phone on. I'll write back with a time.
