I fix small things in people's homes, the way I'd want them fixed in my own.
I work alone on purpose. That way the person who answers the phone is the person who shows up, and the person who tells you the price is the person who does the work.
I keep the list of jobs short: faucets, toilets, drains, leaks under the sink, outdoor taps and the small stuff on water heaters. For the rest I say so, and I tell you who I'd call.
Biscuit came with the van. He is the best part of most days.
